How to workaround Canon not updating drivers for Windows 11
Canon CanoScan 8800F does not have a driver that works on Windows 11. I foresee this happening to other printers and scanners. Does Microsoft have any workarounds, recommendations for peripherals obsoleted by Windows? Ed T. Edit: Correct device is Canon CanoScan 8800F

The first step would be to try reinstalling the Printer. Right-click Start and select Run. \In the Run dialog box, type in control printers and press OK. Locate your printer in the Printers section, Right click it and select Remove device. Restart your PC.

Canon Support site will have all available drivers for your scanner. It might not have scanner drivers for windows 11 since it is an older model. Windows 10 recognizes my printer+scanner only as a printer.

Here's the steps you can try. -Press Windows key + X. -Go to Settings. -Click Update and Security. -Click Troubleshooter then Additional troubleshooter. -Look for Printer and run the troubleshooter. Restart print spooler service. -Press Windows key + R. -Type Services.msc and hit enter.

I am now attempting to download and install 2022-01 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 for x64-based Systems (KB5008353) after updating completely Saturday, January 22 2022. this illustrates that the system senses the scanner. but this suggests there is no scanner. even with this configuration, occasionally it works fine.
